Shanty Town 2017

Homelessness and Disaster

Our goal is to raise $300,000 between now and December 31, 2017.

This year, the Oakton Community College Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter is hosting our 7th Shanty Town. Students will be building shanties and setting up tents on Sunday, October 1st. (President Jimmy Carter's 93rd birthday) Then on Monday night, October 2 (World Habitat Day) to Tuesday morning October 3, students will spend the night simulating a homeless for-the-night experience.

Just imagine...

...if everyone in the Oakton Community donated $10.00, and then asked 10 friends to donate $10.00! In a partnership where that were to happen, we would be able to build over 10 homes! You partnership is an integral part to this project.

Here is how you can help:

Please donate $10.00 to the Oakton Community College Habitat For Humanity Campus Chapter.

Then contact 10 friends and ask them to please donate $10.00 to the Oakton Community College Habitat For Humanity Campus Chapter.

Checks can be made payable to: Oakton Community College Habitat For Humanity Campus Chapter.

You can read more about the project here.

Campus Chapters are linked to a Habitat for Humanity affiliate who provides guidance and opportunities. Our affiliate is Habitat for Humanity of Lake County and their web-page is: http://www.habitatlc.org/
